Inspiration and thanks are due to my daughter Georgette (Age 8 and fellow contestant, mullet name "Yass Queen") who was dead set on sporting a mullet after cycling through various haircuts in the last couple of years (pixie cut, one side shave, mohawk). I saw the looks of admiration and awe she received from her peers and her extra confidence since she made the switch, and decided to hop on that mullet train. There was a slight roadbump, however, when my wife walked in on me in the bathroom with my hair up in a scrunchy, one side clipped down, and clippers in my hand. The look in her eyes did not scream I am 100% behind whatever is happening here, and more like this is what I married. It may have helped if I had given her a heads up of my plans. Since then the magic of the mullet has started to take hold. I have received compliments from people of all ages, races, and genders. My wife has even jumped on board and said I could keep the mullet if I grew out a handlebar mustache. Words I never thought I would hear in a million years, but you don't have to ask me twice!
